The CDT-CMP hosted its first annual conference on Friday 18 September, held at Life Sciences Building at the University of Bristol. Our invited speaker was Manfred Sigrist who gave a talk on ‘Two pieces on superconductivity – Topology and Artificial Superlattices’. We also had two industry speakers, Tim Batten from Renishaw and M’hamed Lakrimi from Siemens
The event also gave the opportunity to hear about the research our year 1 students have been working on over the summer for their Extended Projects. Posters were presented during the lunch session.
Our first conference was a great success in bringing students, staff and partners together to find out what’s happening in the CDT-CMP. Last, but by no means least, we also welcomed out new cohort of year 1 students. We look forward to next years conference, which will be held at the University of Bath.
